I was the editor of issues 13-16 of Eat magazine, an independent food magazine that won the silver prize at the World Food Media Awards in 2002.
It was designed as a kick up the arse of the formulaic food magazines. We took luscious photos of mouldy food to explore the theme of decay; we talked to a royal about horses, and a basashi chef about horse; we heard from Heston Blumenthal about snail porridge and leather chocolates. Everybody praised it, nobody bought it.
